In 1990 Dr. Juan Abarca Campal leads a group of doctors and, together with Dr. Carmen Cidón Tamargo, manages to launch a project to develop a new model of private medicine in Spain. Based on quality of care, professional qualification, research, teaching and technology, HM Hospitales was born with the rehabilitation and re-commissioning of the old San Pedro Hospital, now the HM Madrid University Hospital.

HM Montepríncipe University Hospital is a medical-surgical and maternal-child hospital, opened in 1998 and located on Montepríncipe Avenue in Boadilla del Monte.

HM Sanchinarro University Hospital is a general medical-surgical and children's hospital, located in Calle Oña, in the Sanchinarro neighborhood, and inaugurated in 2007, constituting a fundamental step in the HM Hospitales project and becoming an international reference of quality of care.
