He is currently the Deputy Director of the Institute of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Rambam Medical Center, and part time senior internist at the Emergency Medicine Department.
Dr. Daoud’s main research interests are insulin-resistant states, type-2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. He also specializes in the euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp technique. Other interests include ethnic differences in the prevalence of obesity and diabetes mellitus, the patho-physiological implications of transfer to non-indigenous lifestyles, health education, and patient-centered care.
Dr. Daoud is co-author of "The Comprehensive Guide to Diabetes Mellitus" aimed at educating the Arab population on diabetes mellitus. He has invented a data entry to small devices (PDA’s), and an ergonomic keyboard (patented). |
