Operator Doctor Özgün Akgül graduated from Erciyes University faculty of medicine as one of the top students of his class in 2007. After graduation, he immediately started to work in İzmir Katip Çelebi University Atatürk Training and Research hospital’s general surgery clinic to complete his expertise education. In 2014, he achieved his life-long goal of being an operator doctor. After completing his specialization in bariatric surgeries as a surgeon, he worked in Bornova Türkan Özilhan Public Hospital until 2016, and then he continued his work in Kordon Obesity Centre. He is also an active member of Turkish Surgical Association, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Association (BMCD), Turkish National Society of Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery and Izmir Medical Chamber which is the third biggest chamber of Turkish Medical Association with a number of members exceeding 6500.
His studies in his specialization areas, such as gastric and bariatric treatments have led him to leave a mark among his contemporary scholars as well. His many articles and studies are published all around the world, such as in Causapedia Peer-reviewed Case Journal and İzmir Atatürk Research Hospital’s Journal, both in Turkish and English. Furthermore, due to his knowledge and expertise, he attended many congresses and panels. He is an annual spokesperson in Turkish Society of Colon and Rectal Congress and National Surgical Congress.
His excellent command on English allows him to understand his patient’s cases better and get successful results and reviews from his patients all over the world. Op. Dr. Özgün Akgül set his mind to be one of the leading surgeons in his expertise fields. Happiness and wellness of his patients are his most important concern and motive. |
