Sumru Onal, M.D., F.E.B.Ophth. was born in 1971 in Istanbul. She graduated from Marmara University, School of Medicine in 1996. Dr. Onal completed her residency at the Istanbul University, School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology in 2002 and started to work as an instructor at the Marmara University, School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology at the same year. Dr. Onal did her fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution (MERSI) and the Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Foundation (OIUF) in Boston, Massachusetts from 2005 to 2006. She was promoted to be Associate Professor of Ophthalmology in 2007. In 2008 she became a fellow of European Board of Ophthalmology. She started to work as an attending physician at VKV American Hospital in 2011. Dr. Onal is clinical faculty member at the Koç University School of Medicine since 2012, where she was promoted to Professorship in Ophthalmology in 2013. |
