The extensive hospital network includes 64 hospitals (of which 57 are majority owned by Life Healthcare and another seven in which the group holds substantial minority ownership), providing a range of healthcare services throughout South Africa. Our group has hospitals in seven of the country’s nine provinces, and in the country’s most populous metropolitan areas, including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London and Bloemfontein. Life Healthcare operates a range of facilities adapted to meet the local demand in the various regions of the country, including high technology, multi-disciplinary hospitals, community hospitals and specialised stand-alone facilities to provide the appropriate scope of healthcare services.

In September 2014, the renowned Life Claremont and Life Kingsbury hospitals, part of the Life Healthcare Group of hospitals have officially been amalgamated as the Life Kingsbury hospital. Life Claremont hospital, now known as Kingsbury Suites will be renovated and developed into the Life Peninsula Eye hospital, additional consulting rooms for doctors, a retail pharmacy and will house the well-established Diabetic and Wellness clinic run by Dr Tracey Van Rensburg.

The amalgamation of the two hospitals has been a long-term goal and has been accompanied by extensive renovations to better accommodate our patients and create a holistic healing environment. Our 24 hour Emergency Unit has also been upgraded and moved to Life Kingsbury hospital entrance for easy access and convenience, this now offers a 24/7 medical service and is hotlined to our very own paramedic response car, offering onsite paramedic services in any emergency. Life Kingsbury Hospital is a member of Life Healthcare, one of the largest private hospital groups in South Africa, operating 63 acute care facilities across the country.
