INCA's ORGAN TRANSPLANT INSTITUTE

Kidney transplant is one of the replacement treatments renal function, is performed in patients with end stage renal disease. Kidney transplants are performed at our institution accredited by ONDT with a kidney from a deceased donor or a living related donor.

In Peru, the National Organization of Transplant of Organs and Tissues (ONDT) is the lead agency, meaning through which the Ministry of Health, we were credited from 2010 through Ministerial Resolutions, for heart, liver, lung, being present for Kidney Transplant RM: 670-2013 / MINSA.

LUNG TRANSPLANT AT INCA

Lung transplant is necessary in patients who, for various reasons, have evolved into an irreversible chronic respiratory failure. When it is well advanced, there is no alternative treatment and may be indicated whenever the lung transplant patient is able to overcome it. Lung transplant can be performed, or simultaneously from both heart and lung. In a region of Europe, Catalonia, about 35 lung transplants are done each year.

Lung function diseases cause chronic respiratory failure: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema (presence of air within the lung structure) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchi of long duration, directly related to the heavy consumption of snuff and continuous) can cause chronic respiratory failure.
