Highly Specialized Teaching and Research Hospital

Humanitas is a highly specialized teaching and research hospital. It combines specialized centers for the treatment of cancers, cardiovascular diseases, neurological and orthopedic disorders, as well as an Ophthalmology Centre and a Fertility Center. The hospital is also equipped with Emergency and Radiotherapy areas.

Humanitas Hospital has an advanced Emergency room and an outpatient Radiotherapy Area.

The Italian Ministry of Health granted Humanitas the status of a Research Hospital (IRCCS) with the focus on diseases of the immune system, ranging from cancer to rheumatoid arthritis.

Humanitas believes that it is necessary to balance the clinical quality of care with organizational efficiency. For this reason, Humanitas Hospital earned accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI) and became the first Italian general hospital to be certified for quality JCI-accredited in Italy.

Cardiovascular Department, artificial heart, transapical valves, etc. since it uses the most advanced techniques in treatments, it has become a center of excellence in cardiac surgery. It has a Heart Failure Electrophysiology Treatment Center with the latest generation robot to treat Arrhythmias, Hemodynamics connected to the Coronary Care Unit and Vascular Surgery.

Check up & Diagnostics

The Humanitas Check-up department gives Humanitas patients the chance to make a complete personalized health check diagnosis and visits. Currently, more than 2,300 patients are checked at Humanitas every year.

Dr. Giovanni Covini, head of the check-up department, analyzes each patient's individual case, chronic conditions, symptoms, age, lifestyle and other datas to create personalized check-up plans.

The Humanitas Check-up department is equipped with the latest diagnostic technology that can detect diseases with exceptional sensitivity. For example, Humanitas specialists use 3 Tesla and multiparametric MRI scans.

Dental Center

Humanitas Dental Center offers every service in the field of dentistry.

This service is characterized by a monodisciplinary approach: patients are cared for by a single specialist who treats them with the utmost attention and expertise.

Neuro Center

Humanitas is the national reference hospital for skull (Cranium) and spine Neurosurgery. Patients with neurological diseases are guaranteed an all-round approach, from diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment to Rehabilitation. The Stroke Unit is a regional reference point for the treatment of strokes.

Services For International Patients

We provide our patients with continued support in the form of organizational, language and psychological assistance. We offer interpreters and night nurses as well as remote 24h translation services to facilitate their treatment process.

Humanitas International Department serves as your personal guide throughout the course of treatment, providing care and support for non-Italian patients:

• We collect all the details about your medical condition and create your personalized treatment/check-up plan together with our doctors.

• We'll let you know all the details of your stay and provide you with a cost estimate prior to your arrival.

• We will help you plan your trip to Italy, apply for a medical visa (if needed), book a hotel and arrange transportation.

• By providing translation services both face-to-face and 24/7 by phone, we make sure that there is no language barrier between you and your doctor.

• When you're ready to be discharged, we make sure all your doctor's recommendations are in line with you and that you have all the reports you need.
