- He has the distinction of working as a Registrar with the Rajawadi Hospital and Cooper Hospital in Mumbai respectively.
- He was fortunate to be guided by some senior names in his field. His involvement as a lead investigator in the research outcome of superficial infection in Total Hip and Knee arthroplasty Surgery, under the supervision of foreign doctors was from the University of Dundee, U.K.
- He has also contributed to the study of Dynamic Compression Plating in Diaphyseal fractures of both forearm bones from RGUNH, Bangalore.
- Dr. Patil worked as a Resident at the JJM Medical College Hospital, Davangere.
