Dr. Kalra joined Fortis Hospital Mohali after 13 distinguished years as a Professor of Cardiologist with G.B. Pant Hospital, New Delhi. Having to his credit more than 20,000 Interventional procedures, this is highest by any operator in this region.
During his illustrious career, he has to his credit more than 10,000 complex coronary angioplasties. He is a pioneer in starting primary angioplasty in Punjab, and has performed maximum number of primary angioplasty in this region with minimum Door to Balloon time which is better than any cardiac centre not only in India but around the world.
Having started interventional cardiac procedures 25 years back, he is a pioneer in development of many interventional procedures. He has trained many interventional cardiologists from India and Abroad in these interventional procedures. He has also conducted live demonstrations at various hospitals in India and abroad.
Dr. Kalra is a single largest experienced cardiologist in paediatric interventions, and has innovated many procedures like several closure devices. An internationally recognized Cardiologist, Dr. Kalra is the convener of the Cardiac Registry of India. He has been actively involved in research presentations, and has published papers in more than 200 national and international medical research journals. |
