In 1986 completed a sub specialization in Orthopedics, Joint Replacements, Arthroscopy and Research at the Hospital for Joint Diseases of the Orthopedic Institute in New York. In the same place attended a course in Biomechanics and Ergonomics and a course in Arthroscopic Knee Surgery, Problems and Solutions. Also, in 1986, attended the Symposium of Arthroplasty, Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis in Washington DC. In 1990, completed an Advanced Course in Trauma and First Aid at the Gorgas Memorial Military Hospital in Panama.In 1991, attended a course in Magnetic Resonance Imaging at the Paitilla Medical Center in Panama. In 1993, attended a course in Complete Hip Arthrosplasty and the National Orthopedic Congress in Panama. In 1995, attended the Symposium in Hand Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.In 1996, attended a course in Sport Trauma by the American Society of Orthopedics and Sport Medicine in Lake Buena Vista, in Florida. In 1998, attended the course of Surgery and Bone Transplant of the Ministry of Health and the National Committee for Organ Transplant in Panama. In the same year, attended the course in Complete Joint Arthroscopy at the Health South Medical Center of the Advanced Orthopedic Center in the Metropolitan Complex Hospital in Richmond, Virginia and the Complete Joint Arthroscopy at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2002 attended a course on COX2 (Acroxia) at the MSD – University of North Miami, Miami, Florida.
Major Positions Held: Doctor Dayán was Deputy Chief of Interns at the Nicolás Solano Hospital, from 1980 through 1981. He also was Chief of Residents in Orthopedics from 1984 through 1985. From 1987 through 1990 he was an Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama. |
