He joined Gleneagles in 1998 and currently practises as a Haemato-Oncologist and Physician. He specializes in treating cancers and blood disorders. He has a keen interest in breast cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, lymphomas and leukaemias. He had and still is involved with research work and continues to publish in local and international journals. He is particularly interested in clinical research with new medications as this may bring tremendous benefits to patients. Dr. Leong started bone marrow / stem cell transplantation in Gleneagles Penang in 2004. |

He obtained his postgraduate specialist qualifications (MRCP) from United Kingdom in 1991. He was then appointed as a Lecturer in General Medicine and Haematology in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. He continued his training in U.K. and Australia. He obtained his Diploma in Haematology in 1997, became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) in 1999 and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists since 2000. |
