In 1979, he obtained his Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the University College in Dublin.
Following completion of his FRCSI in 1981, he worked as a Surgical Registrar before returning to Malaysia in 1984 to work as a Surgical Specialist and Head of Surgical Unit II at Penang General Hospital. |
