He is fully trained in Cardiac CT (Computed Tomography) with a Level 3 expertise. He has performed Cardiac CT coronary angiography for stable coronary heart disease, acute chest pain syndrome, coronary stents and coronary bypass graft studies. In addition, he was actively involved in multiple research papers at the Thoraxcentre, encompassing studies on coronary ostial lesions and stable & unstable coronary plaques. |

Professional Experience

He started his training in non-invasive Cardiology and Echocardiography in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu in 2004. In 2005, he joined Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru, where he commenced training in Invasive Cardiology. He is competent in all aspects of Cardiology including interventional cardiology, cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty and stenting, permanent pacemaker implantation (single and dual chamber) and cardiac imaging. He obtained Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Institute Jantung Negara (IJN) in 2007 where he was trained in all aspects of Interventional Cardiology including Primary and Rescue PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) in Acute Myocardial Infarction and Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS). In 2008, he obtained Fellowship in Cardiac Imaging at Thoraxcentre, Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
He also received further training in Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) and Cardiac MRI at Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam. He had established the Cardiac CT Programme at the Regency Specialist Hospital, Johor, where he was Visiting Consultant Cardiologist. |
