Emel Sari Gokten was born in Izmit. She completed High School Foreign Language Weighted İzmit and graduated from Uludag University Faculty of Medicine and specialized in Child and Maternal Mental Health and Diseases and became a specialist doctor in 2009.
In years 2009-2011, she served as a compulsory service in Konya, working with Dr. Faruk Sukan in Maternity and Children's Hospital and continued to work as a specialist in child and adolescent mental health and illnesses in Bursa High Specialized Education and Research Hospital.
Dr. Gokten, who speaks English, speaks widely in international and national scientific congresses with numerous scientific publications in the field of child and adolescent mental health and diseases in international and nationally eminent journals.
She is a member of the Association of Children and Young Psychiatry, the Association of Turkish Psychiatry and Turkish National Associations, and served as a referee for international and national magazines.
