1985, Doctor of Medicine, Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto.
From November 1984 to January 1988, he had the role of monitor of Anatomy class at Faculdade de Medicina do Porto.
In January 1994, was unanimously approved for the global curricular evaluation of the end of his internship in Orthopaedics and Traumatology with the final grade of 20.0 points – the highest grade possible.
In July 20th of 1995, he received his Ph.D in Orthopaedics and Traumatology from Faculdade de Medicina do Porto, being approved with unanimity, distinction and honors. His PHD thesis has the title: “Chronic Injuries of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).” |

Professional Experience
|
In 1995, Dr. Espregueira Mendes applied for the role of Hospital Assistant of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of Hospital de São João, being accepted in first place with 20,0 points.
In October 1998, he applied for the Direction of the Orthopaedics and Traumatology service of Hospital São Sebastião. He was nominated Director and created from scratch the Orthopaedics Service of H. S. Sebastião, part of a new management model of public hospitals with each director being responsible for an annual contract-program.
In February 22nd of 2002, he applied for the degree of Orthopaedics Consultant of the Hospital Medical Career
In November 2005, he was hired by the Escola de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade do Minho as a guest associate professor responsible for the area of Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
Also in November 2005, he became the Director of Clínica Saúde Atlântica – Clínica do Dragão. Dr. Espregueira Mendes is the Chairman of Clínica Espregueira-Mendes - FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence - ESSKA and ISAKOS official centre. |
