Dr Ramdip Ray is the lead consultant of the surgical team in the Liver Transplant / HPB program at CLBS@Aremis.
Dr Ray is a graduate of Medical College, Calcutta. Subsequently he trained in Surgery at the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (IPGMER) and SSKM Hospital in Kolkata and then joined as Senior Resident at the University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) in Delhi .
In 2005 he underwent higher surgical training with Mr Andrew Baker at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital in Wales, UK. He also qualified for the Membership of the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS).
Dr Ray joined a faculty position in Surgery at Medical College, Calcutta in 2005 and he was Assistant Professor there till 2010. He was also Visiting G I Surgeon at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata.
In 2010 , Dr Ray joined Dr Subash Gupta’s team at Apollo, initially as a Fellow and subsequently became Consultant in Liver Transplant / HPB Surgery.
Today Dr Ramdip Ray heads the Liver Transplant & HPB surgery facility of the Centre for Liver & Biliary Sciences (CLBS@Artemis) guided by the mentorship of Prof Subash Gupta.
While Dr Gupta’s team has an overall experience of 1300 transplants including 303 last year, Dr Ramdip Ray have been directly involved in over 900 transplants himself including more than 10 in Artemis Hospital so far. |
