San Juan de Dios Educational Foundation - Overview
The San Juan de Dios Educational Foundation, Inc. was established by Franciscan missionaries in 1578. It is the oldest living hospital in the Philippines. It is now presently located along Roxas Boulevard, Manila. It is a private tertiary hospital with a 230 bed capacity. In addition to this, it is a non-stock, non-profit educational foundation.
The hospital earned its ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2002. In the same year, it gained its ISO 14001:1996 and OHSAS 18001:1999 certification. This makes it the first hospital in Asia to gain certifications from the TUV Product Service in the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series. Moreover, it is the first hospital to acquire triple certification.
It provides services to local patients and medical tourists alike. Some of its clinical departments and facilities include: hemodialysis unit, oncology unit, physical rehabilitation and sports medicine, dental medicine, clinical laboratory and surgical pathology, cardiology, neurology, nephrology, pulmonology, hematology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and many more.
