KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital - Overview

The Damansara Specialist Hospital (DSH) comes under the flagship of Malaysia’s largest healthcare group, the KPJ Healthcare Berhad. It is one of the esteemed hospitals in the country, equipped with advanced healthcare facilities and staffed with over 300 specialists and administrative support persons.

The DSH services both local and international patients, and attracts a large number of health tourists. Patients arrive from nearby countries as well as from the United States and United Kingdom, looking for reasonable costs and immediate service. The hospital facilities meet international standards and the staff persons are able to communicate well in English.

The hospital provides multi-disciplinary care along with modern facilities, and offers specialized services dedicated to treat more serious cases. There are 250 beds in the hospital, distributed among spacious rooms. All rooms, except for four bedded rooms, are furnished with a television set, a telephone and a personal bathroom. Suites and single rooms are provided with a refrigerator too. Patients are given complimentary meals with a choice between local or western cuisine. Staff should be informed of any special dietary preferences.

The DSH was awarded by the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health with a three year term of Hospital Accreditation status in 2004. It was accredited the ISO 9001:2000 by SIRIM the same year. It has achieved the ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999 as well in 2005. The DSH has also received Halal certification from JAKIM. It has also been awarded the Best Hospital Award (2004), Baby Friendly Hospital Award (2004), Asia Hospital Management Award (2006) and Productivity Award (2006).
