What our clients say about us

"Our family spent a week on the island of Isla Mujeres. During our visit our 27 year old son sustained a calcaneus fracture. In other words, he jumped off a roof and landed on his heel cracking it with bone pushing out of his ankle. I knew this injury needed to be treated within 24 hours surgically or he would walk with a permanent limp. We visited the islands small limited clinic and Dr. Jorge Avila (Trauma Orthopedic Surgeon) at Galenia Hospital was recommended. This happened late on a Sunday night and we were due to fly out on Tuesday. After taking the ferry to Cancun Monday morning we arrived at Galenia. We found the hospital aesthetically breathtaking. A solarium in the dining garden and a floor so shiny I could see my reflection. The staff was professional and pleasant at all times during our visit. Admission clerks, housekeepers, staff nurses and physicians ALL made us feel welcome. They were eager to inform and help us navigate a foreign place." -- Lisa Easterling

"Thank you, Galenia Hospital and Dr. Patricia Panama for providing me a safe, cost effective way to have my plastic surgery. I could have never had it done had it not been for your hospital. As a retired registered nurse, I had decided that I would not have the surgery out of the country if I could not have it done in a JCI accredited hospital with an overnight stay... As part of the surgical package I received medical tourism insurance to cover any complications or revisions within the year. I didn’t have to go to a 3rd party facilitator that wasn’t in the medical field. My contact person, Olivia Laviada, works directly for the hospital. This demonstrated to me they were dedicated to my getting the very best care and were willing to spend the funds to meet worldwide accreditation levels. If I had gone to a typical plastic surgeon in the United States, my surgery would have been done in a clinic, without an overnight stay. It may or may not have been an accredited clinic. Since it was an elective surgery, if there were complications or revisions necessary, it would have come out of my own pocket because my own medical insurance wouldn’t have covered it. This is a very big comfort in the weeks and months following the surgery when my face is going through the healing process and patience is needed for the final results when the swelling is completely gone... Even though having surgery in a foreign country can be unsettling, Olivia Laviada and Dr. Panama made myself and my husband feel that if there was anything we needed, all we had to do is ask... For all those looking for a safe, cost effective way to have plastic surgery, please take your health seriously and insist on an accredited Joint Commission International hospital with an overnight stay. Don’t be tempted to go to a clinic and a 3rd party facilitator when you can be safe and completely taken care of by medical professionals." -- Linda Trettin

"Thank you for taking such great care of my mother. She is looking forward to experiencing better health with these treatments and we appreciate your service to us." -- Steven

"Thank you for your compassion warmth and attentiveness while caring for our beloved 2 years old Melanie. At all times we had full confidence in the quality of care and attention to detail. This meant so much to us, and will make us feel safe and secure on our future trips to Cancun." -- Glagowski Family

"Myself, my husband and 6 year old daughter were vacationing in Mexico when my husband was unexpectedly admitted to ICU at Galenia Hospital. This was obviously a very scary and upsetting time for us all. We were in a foreign country and unfamiliar with the language and the quality of the hospitals and medical care available. My husband ended up spending 8 days in hospital and was seen briefly as an out patient before we were medically cleared to fly back home to Canada. I cannot express my thanks and gratitude for the quality of care provided to my husband during his time at Galenia... The hospital was very clean, comfortable and accommodating. I felt safe being there and felt my husband was in good hands. The level of medical care provided was first class. I will never hesitate to travel to Cancun (and surrounding area) again and will tell everyone and anyone who will listen about the quality of medical care available at Galenia Hospital." -- Deanne and Shawn O'Brien

"The man at the reception (urgencias) was very great, he took extra care and went out of his way to help me with everything. He is truly a blessing to this hospital." -- Catherine
